Homer L. and Edward (Buck) Chastain founded Homer L. Chastain & Associates in 1954, a successor to Chastain, Burgener, & Associates which started in 1946.
Our services began with surveying and engineering projects such as lot surveys and water main construction. The firm then expanded to larger projects such as civil site design work and construction staking for manufacturing plants.
Chastain was one of the first firms hired by the Illinois State Toll Highway Authority to design and oversee construction in the metropolitan Chicago area. We were also awarded one of the first contracts with the Illinois Department of Transportation for engineering work on the new federal interstate highway system.
Today, Chastain offers superior Civil Engineering, Structural Engineering, and Land Surveying Services to our State, County, City, Local Governments, and Private Sector Clients. We specialize in working with and serving our clients in the implementation of transportation, municipal, structural and site development projects. Our goal is to provide our clients with exceptional service exceeding expectations.
