Structural Engineer
Chastain is seeking a professional Structural Engineer with 10 or more years of structural design experience with highway bridges, culverts, retaining walls, and other transportation structures. Experience with railroads, buildings and industrial applications are a plus. The Structural Engineer will perform a variety of engineering tasks by applying standard engineering techniques and analyses within the structural engineering discipline. These tasks include, but are not limited to: planning, estimate of cost, design, and preparation of plans and special provisions for bridges and structures. Chastain is prequalified with IDOT to provide structural engineering services in the Highway Structure: Simple & Typical categories.
The ideal candidate will be a licensed Structural Engineer with the State of Illinois. Good communication and organizational skills are required. A solid work history and presentation skills are important attributes. Experience with IDOT, the Illinois Tollway and/or City of Chicago are a plus. This is a firm-wide opening, and the position is available in any of our Chicago, Rockford, or Decatur offices.
