Hassert Boulevard Improvements from King Drive to Weber Road

Chastain performed the design and construction engineering services to improve Hassert Boulevard from a two lane rural highway to a four lane boulevard street with curb and gutter, closed drainage system, street lighting and landscaping.
Key elements of this project included:
- Designing the roadway one foot above the 100-year flood event.
- Developing an efficient staging plan to expedite construction and minimize impacts to the numerous residents that live along the boulevard.
- Utility relocation coordination.
- Coordination with the Village of Bolingbrook, two developers and two other consultant firms for adjoining section improvements.
- $3.1 million construction cost.
