Storm Water Master Plan Improvements

Chastain provided the City of Des Plaines construction observation and inspection services for the construction of 15,555 lineal feet of storm sewer ranging in size from 12 inches to 72 inches in diameter in a residential neighborhood.
Other work included sanitary sewer improvements and removal and replacement of pavement, sidewalks, curb and gutter and other ancillary work necessary to complete the project.
Our staff performed construction inspection, measurement and documentation of quantities and coordination with the Contractor, City of Des Plaines, Cook County Highway Department and the residents living within construction limits.
Key elements of this project included:
- Identifying existing utilities and residential lateral connections.
- Developing an efficient staging plan to minimize impacts to residents.
- $5 million construction cost.
